Website Connections

http://www.seattle.gov/
The book's setting is Seattle, Washington. This is the official site for Seattle. Therefore, it has a lot of good information and pictures of the city.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necromancy
Necromancy obviously takes a pretty big role in this book. Both the protagonist and antagonist are necromancers and this gives decent background information on them. It's just something to look into if interested.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchcraft
Sam's mom is a witch. This is just another wiki page giving background information on witches. It happens to have more links though towards other points of interest.

http://www.lishmcbride.com/home
This is the website of the author. Here you can keep updated on whatever she's doing if you want. The site is pretty bare since this is her first book.

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-ca-lish-mcbride-20101121,0,3090577.story
This is a good review of the book if you want to check this out first. Even McBride sited this one on her website, so you know it's what she wants too. The only issue is that it's not his father that was a necromancer, but his uncle.

http://www.booktunes.net/tune/17668937-Hold-Me-Closer-Necromancer
This is yet again another review for the book. McBride also suggested that people check this out. It also has this booktune feature, so it's kind of neat.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werewolf
The female lead in the book is part werewolf. This gives pretty good background info on werewolves. It also shows links to things fiction related.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairy
The female lead, Brid's other half is fairy, or as she says in the book fey. If it's of real interest, you can check this out too, even though it's not a rather prominent part of the book. Wikipedia in general is just a good source of information.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undead
Yet again, wikipedia gives us good information. As a part of necromancy itself, they raise the undead. Knowing a bit about what the undead are wouldn't hurt.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantasy
While everyone knows what fantasy is, it's still nice to have some info on it. This gives pretty detailed information on fantasy. It's always good to look through different things throughout fantasy.

http://www.writesf.com/
This is just a site to help in writing fantasy or science fiction. It gives detailed instruction and advice for free. If writing's your passion, I'd check it out.

http://www.fantasy-writers.org/
This is just a site for people who write fantasy. You can go on and post your stories and talk with other writers. It's a good way to get to know other writers.

http://www.mania.com/top-20-greatest-fantasy-writers-alltime_article_114266.html
Here's a list of someone's opinion of the top 20 fantasy writers of all time. When you have free time not doing homework or extra curriculars, these authors would be good to look at. Even if you don't agree with all, they're all pretty popular and well known, so they must be pretty good.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_comedy
Now, black comedy is not what you're probably thinking. It's not a link dealing with race, as I don't even think there are black people in this book. Anyway, black comedy is basically dark comedy, and it gives some information on it as well as links to others like it.

http://www.warriors-wizards.com/necromancy_in_fiction.htm
If you've read this book and have an interest in it, you should check out this site. It's not just books, it's all kinds of fiction dealing with necromancy. There's TV shows, books, movies, and even my favorite, manga. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDS1CF2nzMo
Youtube is not accessible at school, but at home, you should check out this more legit book trailer. It doesn't give much storyline, but it reenacts an exact part from the book. It's really funny and interesting.

http://archives.nd.edu/latgramm.htm
This seems kind of weird, due to it being a Latin site. The antagonist, Douglas has a really big interest in Latin. If you're really into the book, or just Latin, this is a good site, just look at the .edu.

Don't want to give the ending away, but this deals with something that goes on in the end. He deals with guilt about something. This site tells how to express that in fiction.

http://www.deviantart.com/
This is simply a really popular art site. There is a section of anything, including the undead, although that's quite creepy. Either way, it's a good way to check out what anything looks like if you're confused.

http://www.economist.com/node/17093539
A part of the book kind of talks about issues with China. If you're interested in politics, you should check this out. It talks about Chinese-US relation in the same year the book was released.
